We work with an innovative, multidisciplinary and international approach.
Our sectors of
Activities
Over the years, more than 100 dams have been designed in Italy and abroad, most of them built as part of hydroelectric plants, irrigation schemes and drinking and industrial diversions. In particular, it has to be highlighted the recent design of the Guayubin Dams (concrete gravity dam and secondary rockfill embankment dam with clay core) in the Dominican Republic and the Gretano Dam in Tuscany (concrete gravity dam), the Monti Nieddu Dams (RCC Sa Stria dam, RCC downstream dam and concrete weir of Medau Aingiu) in Sardinia and of the Mandawa Dam in Iraqi Kurdistan (mixed earthfill and concrete gravity dam). Concurrently, the seismic analyses of dams and related appurtenant works have been developed, performed in accordance with the current Italian legislation and/or according to the main international codes and recommendations. Recently the seismic analysis of the Casoli Dam (buttress gravity dam) and the Bomba Dam (zoned earthfill dams) have been performed.

The activities cover both the construction of new plants and the upgrading of existing structures on behalf of public and private customers. To be remark the recent design and technical follow up during construction of the HPP1 and HPP2 hydropower plants in Uganda. In the field of generation and pumped storage plants, the design and follow up during the construction of the Giaglione plant (Pont Ventoux-Susa) stands out.Feasibility Studies on behalf of Terna for the purpose of implementing pumped storage plants in Southern Italy in combination with existing reservoirs have been recently carried out.

More than 200 km of tunnels for hydroelectric power plants and water networks have been studied and designed. A particular qualification has been developed in design of tunnels excavated with TBM and reinforced with precast concrete segments with rebars or fibers. In recent years, the design of the Torito Hydroelectric Plant Tunnel (EPBM-Costarica), the Suruc Hydraulic Tunnel (double shield TBM-Turkey), the Mavi Hydraulic Tunnel (double shield TBM-Turkey) and the Nosud Hydraulic Tunnel (double shield TBM-Iran) are the main developed projects.

Over the years the design of tunnels for transport infrastructures (roads and railways) has exceeded 300 km. The recent design and follow-up during the construction of the Investigation Tunnel “La Maddalena”(conventional/TBM excavation with max overburden of 2000 m) of the new High-Speed Turin-Lyon rail link and the construction design and follow-up during the construction of the Buttoli Tunnel in province of Florence (Variante di Valico Lotto 12) present a particular interest.

In the fields of undergrounds and of urban railways among the more recent can be mentioned Sereni Structure of the Metropolitan M4, the Marconi and San Faustino Stations of the Metropolitan of Brescia, the Vancouver Canada Line and the Milan “Passante” (Lotto 20 and 30) can be mentioned.

The most relevant recent activities concern: the La Maddalena Investigation Tunnel construction site access road, the Supervision of Works of the 4A Lot of the High Capacity Milano-Bologna, the feasibility studies for extraordinary maintenance of the reinforced concrete structures of Fiumata and Castel di Tora road bridges (Ri) and the reinforcement and reprofile design of Algerian railways tunnels. Furthermore, as part of large hydraulic works the service road system has been designed (Mandawa Dam, HPP1 and HPP2 Plants, etc..).
