Gian Luca Morelli
Born in Sanremo in 1974, he is Technical Director of Geotecna Progetti, coordinates the technical office and is chief of railways, roads, tunnels and geotechnical sectors.
He graduated from University of Pavia, is registered in Imperia Order of Engineers, certified Project Manager (UNI 11648) from AICQ-SICEV and qualified to carry out the function of safety coordinator during the design phase and/or during the execution of the works.
He has developed his expertise in Geotecna Progetti working on the structural and geotechnical aspects of the design of large works. He has a strong experience of over twenty years in the design, validation and technical assistance during construction, in Italy and abroad, of over 100 km of tunnels (hydraulic, railway and road), more than 50 km of subways, over 20 underground stations and shafts, several gravity and embankment dams and hydroelectric plants.
Over the years he has also participated in the execution of the seismic verifications of several dams and related ancillary works, developed in accordance with the current legislation (Decree of 26.6.2014 of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports), and/or according to the main codes and recommendations standards (Eurocodes, ICOLD, USACE).
He is author of various technical-scientific publications in the field of dams and tunnels and an active member of numerous professional cultural associations, including: the SIG (Italian Tunnel Society), the AGI (Italian Geotechnical Association) and ITCOLD.
